I'm wondering if I should pay off the mortgage loan on an office building I own 50% of. I owe $230,000 (variable rate or interest, presently at 6.75%). Compiling this amount would wipe out both my savings and I would need to sell an investment house. I'm planning to retire this year. Paid off, the building would net an extra $2000/month income rent income. My partner is not interested in paying off the equity of his half.
